Firstly, in order to be able to send out through the ATU/ISP/RPI mail server. You will need to change the password. Click here for how to change your email password.
1. In Outlook, click on the File option in the menu bar.
2. Then click the Account Settings pulldown menu and click the Manage Profiles option.
3. Click the Email Accounts... button.
4. Make sure you have the email address you want to update highlighted and then click the Change button.
5. Knowing what email server to enter in.
Server Information
- If your email address is sunshine@isp.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.isp.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.isp.net.au
- If your email address is sunshine@atu.com.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.atu.com.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.atu.com.au
- If your email address is sunshine@rpi.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.rpi.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.rpi.net.au
- If your email address is sunshine@atu.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.atu.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.atu.net.au
Logon Information
User Name: sunshine
Password: **********
Make sure you have Remember password Ticked.
Then click on the More Settings.. button.
6. Click on the Outgoing Server tab. Put a tick next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. And that the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" radio button is selected.
7. Next, click the Advanced tab.
If you're using IMAP the default port is 993, however if you're using POP3, then the port for incoming server is 995.
Make sure that "SSL/TLS" is selected in the "Use the following type of encrypted connections"
And "25" is in the "Outgoing server (SMTP)".
And "STARTTLS" is selected in the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" for the Outgoing server.
And then click the OK button.
8.Outlook will then Test the settings. If you get a Completed status for both incoming and outgoing test. Just click the Close button.
9. Then click the Finish button.
And then click the Close and Close from the remaining prompts.
This completes the password update in Outlook.
