1. Open Thunderbird and click on the hamburger icon (3 horizontal lines) on the top right of the app.
2. Then click on Account Settings option.
3. On the left sidebar, navigate to Server Settings of your email.
- If your email address is sunshine@isp.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.isp.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.isp.net.au
- If your email address is sunshine@atu.com.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.atu.com.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.atu.com.au
- If your email address is sunshine@rpi.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.rpi.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.rpi.net.au
- If your email address is sunshine@atu.net.au
- Incoming mail server: mail.atu.net.au
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.atu.net.au
IMAP port: 993
POP3 port: 995
4. Make sure you have the correct Server Name, Port, Connection security and Authentication method, as shown in the screenshot below:
5. Then navigate to Outgoing Server (SMTP) from the left sidebar menu.
6. Then on the main screen, highlight the email username from the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings and click on the Edit button.
7. Then make sure the the following fields are filled in and set up like the screenshot below:
Description and Server Name to use depending on step 3 above. Port is 465, Connection security is SSL/TLS and Authentication method is Normal password. The User Name should be the first bit of your email address. And then click on the OK button.
8. Then click the X of the Account Settings tab.
Then check your email and try to send an email to yourself.
