If you already know how to login into your phone's configuration dashboard, you can keep the following next section and scroll down to How to add Speed Dials and How to add BLF (Busy Lamp Field) section of this article.
Firstly you will need to obtain the IP address of the phone you want changed. To obtain the IP address, just click on the OK button which is located in-between the arrow buttons. Then in a browser, enter that IP address with https: in front of it in the URL field. Then press the Enter key.
You should get a page like this appear. Click on the Advanced button.
It will expand to the screenshot below, and then click on Proceed to [the IP of your phone] (unsafe). Don't worry, you're just connecting directly to the phone.
Then you're greeted with a Login screen. Enter admin and admin for the username and password respectively.
Then on the left side menu, click on Dsskey to expand the submenu, and then Line Key.
You will see something like the following screenshot:
The column title Key refers to the buttons on the sides of your phone's display screen.
The Type column pull down menu are the various functions available to that button when it is pressed. You can view download the manuals to read up more of these functions from https://support.yealink.com/en/portal/home.
The Value column is what is sent to the phone server, in the case of setting up a speed dial, this would be the telephone number.
The Label column is the name you want to label the button, so you know what that button is for. e.g. Joe mobile (note: there is limited space on the display, so make it short and easily identifiable).
The Line column refers to your SIP Account. Typically you will only have one SIP extension configured on the phone and it will more likely be in Account 1 and in this page, Line1 refers to that account.
But for the most common functions used, please continue reading.
To add a speed dial button on your phone's display. pick a Line Key row that correspond to the soft button on the display screen. In the example below, Line Key3 corresponds to the 3rd button from the left set of buttons (going from top to bottom)
Then you pull the menu down.
And then select the SpeedDial option.
In the screenshot below, you can see a mobile number (a fictitious one was entered in for demonstration purposes) entered in the Value field of the Line Key3 SpeedDial row, and I know it's Joe's mobile so I entered "Joe mobile" in the Label field. I kept the Line column Line1 as I only have 1 SIP extension account.
When you're done, click the Confirm button at the bottom of the screen.
You should now see that new Label displayed on screen next to the 3rd button.
What is a BLF button? It's a light indicator on the button that indicates green if that extension is free or red if the person's extension is on a call.
Creating a busy lamp field is slightly a little bit more complicated and you will have to know your tenant name (usually a 5 digit number with a capital "P" in the beginning of it. e.g. P12134) and the extension number.
Let's say you want to create a BLF button on your phone for Joe's extension in the office. You know that Joe's extension is 103 and using the example tenant above, we get the what is needed to be entered into the Value and Extension fields 103-P12134. See below as an example:
When you're done, click the Confirm button at the bottom of the screen.
You should now see that new Label Joe Extens displayed on screen next to the 4th button and the green light on the button light up (if Joe isn't on a call).
